Clubs at Macrob
Mac.Rob has a wide variety of student run clubs which range from the Political Club, to the Drama Club. These clubs offer students the chance to develop and share their interests, as well as meeting like minded people. Clubs also offer the chance for students to relax, and get involved in the Co-Curricular Program.
These clubs include:
Chinese Culture Club
Chess Club
Dance Club
Drama @ MacRob
German
Indonesian Club
Chinese Culture Club (CCC)
The aim of the CCC is to provide an opportunity for students to learn about Chinese culture in a fun and safe environment. Through various activites such as watching movies and craft-making, we hope that students will be able to gain a better understanding of the Chinese culture.
Chess Club
Chess is very popular at Mac.Rob, and each year a team is selected for the Adelaide Exchange program. The club also takes part in many competitions. Students participating in Chess Club will find their reading and maths skills soaring, ability to socialize substantially increasing and intellectual, aesthetic, sporting, decision making, concentration, and perseverance skills enhanced. Students gain logical and mathematical skills, learning that there is more than one solution to a dilemma in life, as well as improving critical thinking skills for everyday life. Meetings are held every Friday lunchtime, and are open to all.
Dance Club
Dance Club promotes creativity and confidence in performance. Students in the Dance Club broaden their knowledge of dance and different dance styles, as well as exploring expression through dance, while having fun sharing a passion and interest in dance with others.
Drama @ MacRob
Drama @ MacRob aims to assist students with their studies in drama and passion for the theatre by providing students with help and feedback for class work (i.e. workshopping performances, helping students write scripts etc). Students become more confident performers and broaden their knowledge of drama and theatre beyond that of the curriculum. Drama @ MacRob also endeavours to showcase the school’s talent in the performing arts, as well as seeing plays as a group.
German Club
The German Club enhances and promotes the appreciation of learning the German language and culture for all members of the school community.
Indonesian Club (Klub Indo)
The Indonesian Club provides the school community with a fun and relaxed environment outside of the formal classroom setting for the aim of fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Indonesian language and culture.
