The Mac.Robertson Girls' High School has a strong tradition of providing support to the performing arts and to the ever-growing drama community within MacRob. MacRob's drama programme seems to be growing every year, as more students and teachers alike want to become more involved with MacRob's extensive performing arts programme.

Throughout the year, there are many opportunities for our students to participate in performing arts-related activities. Undoubtedly, the biggest event on the MacRob calendar is the House Chorals, where all four houses partake in a musical extravaganza which only gets bigger and better with every year. Along with House Chorals, every year MacRob presents House Drama which is specifically for our talented young actors and our dedicated stage crew.

Every year, MacRob teams up with its brother school, Melbourne High School, to present two huge performances; a musical and a play. This year we are thrilled and privileged to be presenting Beauty and the Beast, a tale of enchanted objects and nosy townspeople.

MacRob competes in a Theatresports team against both Melbourne High School and Adelaide High School. The Theatresports team has always been successful and it's a great opportunity for people to get involved in theatre.

MacRob offers an extensive theatrical programme in both co-curricular and school curriculum. There are ongoing solo and ensemble performances throughout the years, and Drama as a subject is offered at all year levels.

2010 is set to be a year filled with excitement and success in the Drama department.
