Music

Mac.Rob has a long standing tradition of music education and musical participation. Music, in various ways, is an integral aspect of the life of the girls at all year levels. Mac.Rob wishes to offer every student an opportunity to experience music in the best possible way.

The Mac.Rob Music Program has three distinct branches:

Classroom Music

Instrumental Music

Ensemble Music

Mac.Rob offers every student an opportunity to apply for instrumental tuition for:

most orchestral and band instruments

piano

acoustic and electric guitar

electric bass

drumkit

voice (traditional and contemporary).

Annual music events include:

  House Chorals

  Autumn, Winter (combined with MHS)  & Spring Concerts

  soirees for Wind, String, Voice & Piano

  whole school massed singing and orchestra at Speech Night.

There are numerous other concerts throughout the year which involve smaller ensembles and soloists, within and outside the school. Student leadership is supported and events organised by student leaders and the student music committee include Music Week, Jazz Night, Spicks & Specks and various other fund raising efforts.
