Community Partnerships Update | December, 2025.
Year 9 Orientation Day.
PA hosts a morning tea and Second-Hand Uniform Sale for our 2026 Year 9 families.
The Mac.Rob Parents’ Association warmly welcomed incoming Year 9 families during Orientation Day, creating a wonderful atmosphere that highlighted the spirit of community and support.
Thanks to the generosity of our parents, the morning tea featured an impressive and diverse spread of delicious food for our guests to enjoy. PA volunteers were exceptional throughout the day - setting up, managing the food table, serving, and packing up - ensuring everything ran seamlessly. Most importantly, their friendly conversations and warm presence helped our new families feel immediately at home.
A dedicated team of PA volunteers also did outstanding work running the Second-Hand Uniform Sale, enabling future Mac.Rob families to access affordable uniforms as they prepare for the year ahead.
Special thanks go to PA President Jasmine Wan, whose organisation and ongoing commitment to the Mac.Rob community made both the morning tea and the uniform sale such a success.
Beca Lunchtime Presentation: Inspiring Future Pathways in STEM.
On Thursday, December 5th, students from Years 9 and 10 attended a highly successful lunchtime presentation from our industry partner Beca, an Asia-Pacific leader in engineering and professional services. The session offered students valuable insights into STEM careers and the diverse pathways available through industry engagement.
Beca has been a strong supporter of young women pursuing STEM, and the presentation highlighted two exciting opportunities available for 2026:
Year 10 Work Experience Program
Year 11 Mentorship Program
During the session, Beca representatives shared stories from the field, gave an overview of the engineering and consultancy sectors, and encouraged students to consider how real-world industry experience can strengthen their future career aspirations.
The event took place in the Hall and concluded with a Q&A segment, where students asked thoughtful questions about career pathways, industry challenges, and what to expect from the programs. Interested students were then able to sign up for either the Work Experience or Mentorship Program at the end of the presentation.
We encourage all students to take advantage of the opportunities offered through our partnership with Beca and look forward to seeing many of them engaged in the 2026 programs.
