Library Update | What’s New in Term 3.
What’s New in the Library.
The start of terms always signify an enormous number of returns from the holiday borrowing and conversations about what was read and enjoyed while away on break.
We’ve been shopping with other staff in the school, had numerous boxes of books delivered, catalogued and covered books, dealt with an amazing number of staff and student requests, loaned almost 12 books resources and bound numerous notes for students doing SACS.
In between the busy, there are quiet moments where we get to have a chat with students about their study, their future plans, and discuss what we will be doing for Book Week.
Speaking of, it is Book Week as I write this! Mr Jach is on leave from this week, and Madame Jessica Olp will be helping out in his absence for the remainder of the term.
We have been helping to promote the Mac.Read Group’s activities which include their Overpass Decor, and our own Library events to promote the love of books, reading and literacy. Happy Book Week!

An update on the new Wellbeing Collection.
On the first afternoon of Term 3, the librarians took a trip to Dymocks in the city with Head of Wellbeing, Ms Katrina Adams. An hour was spent in the store, selecting resources in the areas around personal growth and wellbeing to add to these collections in the library for students and staff to borrow.
We purchased topics about:
We are working with Katrina to create a comprehensive resource list to be available to everyone in the MacRob community, and we will work on getting the actual resources out in the collection for students to be able to borrow.
Got a sensational story to share? Students can request books for the library to purchase - including fiction, non-fiction, reference books, and manga - via the Google Form on the Library Portal!
