Inspiring Future Leaders: Mac.Rob Celebrates 4 Years of the BECA Mentoring Program!
What an incredible wrap-up to this year’s BECA Mentoring Program! Now in our proud fourth year of partnership, our Year 11 mentees concluded their mentoring journey with an unforgettable final session at BECA’s Melbourne office yesterday.
The impact of the program was beautifully captured in their feedback. "You're an icon!" was just one of the many sweet messages left for the mentors as we celebrated the completion of the program.
Reading through the students' feedback, it is clear just how deeply this experience has shaped their aspirations. From getting a glimpse into real-world food and electrical engineering projects to receiving deeply personal career advice, our Year 11s walked away inspired, confident, and excited for their futures. Students highlighted how much they appreciated the "valuable insights, welcoming atmosphere, and fun facilities," with several noting that the program completely changed their perspective on entering the engineering field.
For their final session, students were treated to an exclusive insider look at the BECA Melbourne office. Walking through the doors, the students were captivated by the vibrant, modern workspace. Designed to foster collaboration, the office features impressive open-plan hubs, cutting-edge technology, and creative design spaces that bring engineering to life. It gave our students a genuine taste of what it feels like to work at the forefront of a world-class consultancy firm.
Following the tour, BECA generously hosted a special celebration evening for the students. To mark their dedication and growth over the course of the program, each mentee was formally presented with a Certificate of Completion - a well-deserved recognition of their hard work and engagement.
"Despite not being inclined towards engineering before, this has certainly opened up the field for me!" shared one of our Year 11 participants.
Empowering the Next Generation: A Huge Thank You to The Palladians Association!
A massive thank you to the Palladians Association for their incredible contribution to the recent Mac.Rob Careers Expo! The Palladians booth provided an invaluable space for our current students to connect with a diverse, supportive network of alumni. Students had the unique opportunity to speak with mentors at every stage of their professional journeys, from first-year and final-year university students just starting out, to alumni navigating the early stages of their careers, through to those at the very peak of their respective industries.
A major highlight of the day was the powerful panel discussion on "Women in Leadership," brilliantly led by Camy Wong CA, MBA and Louisa W. The session was absolutely packed with a wealth of knowledge, candid stories, and inspiring insights on navigating the modern workforce.
It was fantastic to see that the impact of this discussion extended well beyond our student body, with several of our parents attending and greatly benefiting from the panelists' wisdom and advice as well!
What makes the Palladian contribution so distinct is the shared bond of the Mac.Rob experience. By sharing their time and personal professional journeys, our alumni demystified the professional world and instilled a deep sense of confidence in our students.
Thank you once again to the Palladians Association for your vibrant presence, your valuable time, and your continued dedication to empowering, guiding, and inspiring the next generation of Mac.Robians!
Celebrating Culture and Community: International Ball 2026!
What a night to remember! The highly anticipated International Ball 2026 took place on May 22nd, at the spectacular St Kilda Town Hall, and it completely lived up to the hype. After selling out tickets in a record-breaking four hours, the atmosphere in the grand hall was electric from the moment the doors opened.
The night kicked off with a wonderful welcome speech from our Principal, Sue, while our brilliant Interact Co-Presidents, Thy M and Isabel A, kept the energy high all evening as our MCs.
The evening was a beautiful celebration of our school’s diverse cultural fabric. The food was absolutely lovely, offering a delicious taste of cuisine that perfectly matched the grand setting. The student performers did a truly phenomenal job on the big stage. Having rehearsed tirelessly since the start of the term, they blew the audience away with a showcase featuring one performance per country, alongside two spectacular performances representing India. The sheer talent, effort, and pride on display were inspiring.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship from the PA and the Palladians Association, students lined up to capture memories at two transitionally popular photo booths. When guests weren’t snapping photos, they were tearing up the St Kilda Town Hall dance floor. The DJ, kindly sponsored by Dr. Vicky Au, was an absolute hit, keeping the room buzzing with energy until the very end.
The excitement peaked at the very end of the night with our grand prize draws! Using a digital spinning wheel, we gave away a fantastic lineup of vouchers from Bob Stewart, Luna Park, Cupcake Queens, Readings, the school canteen, a PA hamper, and beautiful gift bags from the Interact Club.
We also crowned our best-dressed guests of the evening! A huge congratulations to the winners of our Best Cultural Dress for a Student and Best Cultural Dress for a Parent awards, the traditional outfits looked magnificent under the Town Hall lights.
An event of this scale takes a village. A huge thank you goes out to the Interact Club for their beautiful decorations, our generous sponsors, our staff, and the student performers who poured their hearts into the night. Behind the scenes, we are so happy to announce that funding has already been secured for next year, ensuring this incredible tradition continues.
Thank you to everyone who attended and made it such a magical, inclusive evening. See you all next year!
