House Swimming

On February 14th, the heart of MSAC throbbed with anticipation as House Swimming, one of the year's first whole-school events, unfolded. For Mac.Rob, it wasn't just a chance to showcase House and the vibrant extracurricular program to the new Year 9s; it was a gateway into the pulsating rhythm of student life and agency at school.

The air crackled with excitement as students flooded in, their energy bouncing off the walls. Everywhere you looked, there were breathtaking costumes— students and teachers alike adorned in a riot of colours and singing their hearts out during the house parade!

Throughout the day as swimmers prepared to swim their races, we heard cheers of support and rounds of applause echoing throughout the stadium. In the heat of competition, Dryads and Naiads soared to joint victory in the various novelty events, whilst Oreads claimed the House Parade with a flourish of House pride. Overall, it was Dryads who emerged triumphant, claiming victory!

A massive thank you and well done to all swimmers who participated on the day and to everyone who got involved with the activities and events! We would like to congratulate our Age Group Champions for 2024:

  • 14 Years: Jianna M

  • 15 Years: Jowdy M

  • 16 Years: Olivia T

  • 17 Years: Yeju L

  • 18 Years: Ivy Li

An honourable mention to Ivy for breaking a school record on the day!

Ultimately, House Swimming is about more than just a competition—it’s about coming together as a community, celebrating each other's achievements, and embracing the electrifying house spirit that makes these events throughout the year so special. It's a feeling that stays with you long after the final whistle blows, a reminder of the power of unity, passion and house spirit present at Mac.Rob!
