Interact Update | BBQ Fundraiser

Mac.Rob Interact and Port Phillip Rotary fires up the grill for a great cause!

The Interact Club co-presidents, Claire and Samantha, recently organised a Bunnings BBQ in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Port Phillip. The fundraiser supported “For A Meal”, one of the club’s key projects that involves packing relief food sachets for people affected by natural disasters.

On Friday, 21st June, members of the Mac.Rob Interact Club teamed up with the Port Phillip Rotary Club for a community barbecue at Bunnings Port Melbourne — and what a day it was!

Despite the cold winter weather, our volunteers brought warmth and energy to the event, helping to serve up sausages with a side of smiles. From setting up early in the morning to engaging with customers throughout the day, every student involved demonstrated professionalism, teamwork, and heart. The dedicated students arrived bright and early at 7:45am!

A special thanks goes to an incredible parent who generously drove two students to the venue and stayed to lend a helping hand — a true example of our community spirit.

Using the money raised, students at Mac.Rob will pack the food onsite, contributing directly to the effort. This initiative is proudly supported by Port Phillip Rotary, making the team’s hard work even more impactful.

Reflecting on the day, a member of the Rotary Club shared, “I was very impressed with the girls who attended. They picked up their duties quickly and their connection with our customers was excellent.”

We’re proud of our students for their commitment, enthusiasm, and initiative.

Congratulations to all involved for representing Mac.Rob so brilliantly!
