Library Update | What’s New in February.

What’s New in the Library.

Welcome back to the school year in 2026, for new and returning students and staff.

The Learning Resource Centre - aka the LRC, or simply, Library, is a hub of activity with students studying, chatting, borrowing, browsing the shelves, photocopying, printing, stapling, renewing books, returning things, asking questions, and helping each other out.

There are new 2026 VCE study guides for students to borrow: Cambridge Checkpoints, Insight Revision Guides, and ATAR Notes. We are trialling a system of keeping the new study guides behind the desk and students need to come ask us to borrow them.

Wheelers eBook database has been renewed and new students and staff have been uploaded. Everyone can borrow ebooks at any time of the day or night. The Wheelers app can be downloaded onto your devices from your App store, or you can read ebooks directly from the website.

➲ The link is here. Your login is your First Name.Surname (i.e. Jane.Smith). The password is Library1.

Please let us know if you have any issues logging into the Wheelers site by emailing us at library@macrob.vic.edu.au or come by the desk and chat to us.

__________

The library has a Libguide. The libguide has links to searching our library catalogue, requesting resources, links to the databases we subscribe to for students to use for their work, frequently asked questions, and information about books of course! We are in the process of updating the page for APA (American Psychological Association) referencing guidelines, which Mac.Rob is now using as of this year instead of Harvard referencing. We will email all students and staff when this page is ready.

Also available through the Libguide is the Pallas Archive which our Communications Officer, Jack Richardson did an amazing job in making the Pallas magazines digitally accessible to everyone.

Students and staff are most welcome to request resources for the library to purchase.

We have a Google Form that can be filled out. We do try our best to purchase the requests, however, sometimes books are unavailable to buy due to being out of publication, or they can be very expensive. At times they can also take months to be delivered. However, we always encourage requests as the library is for the students first and foremost, and we need them to help us build the collection.

New Books for 2026.

Towards the end of 2025, we were able to purchase quite a few new books for the collection for everyone to borrow. These are gradually being added to the library collection. Some new recommendations include:

Got a sensational story to share? Students can request books for the library to purchase - including fiction, non-fiction, reference books, and manga - via the Google Form on the Library Portal!
