Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment

Port Phillip Rotary sponsored Saanvi M, a Year 10 student from Mac.Rob, to participate in the Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN) from March 22nd - 24th at Doxa's Malmsbury Camp. This opportunity aimed to provide students with a confidence boost to unlock their full potential.

Saanvi joined her peers at Brighton Secondary College to Doxa's Malmsbury Camp on Friday evening, where they met fellow campers from various parts of metropolitan and regional Victoria.

Throughout RYPEN, participants developed essential skills including resilience, communication, leadership fundamentals and ethics, goal setting, teamwork, defining personal values, trust, community and global citizenship, problem-solving, conflict management, and taking initiative. These outcomes are aligned with the Personal and Social General Capabilities of the Australian Curriculum.

RYPEN offers students exposure to diverse ideas, challenges, and social experiences, fostering the formation of their own values and moral standards while expanding their cultural, social, and academic horizons. The program emphasises 'challenge by choice' as a crucial element of the experience.

Rehana Ziyad | Community Partnerships Project Manager

“I wanted to let you know I was selected and took part in the Rotary leadership Camp this weekend recommended by Ms. Ziyad and the Interact club. It was such an incredible experience and I got to meet so many new people and make long lasting friendships, memories and learn so much more about myself. I wanted to thank the school for informing me about the program, I have really benefitted from it and had a weekend I will not forget. I would recommend the program to students at our school in the future. I have also attached a photo of my camp group who I have bonded with so much in such a little time :)”
