School Captain Update | February

The start of the school year has brought lots of laughter, love and learning back into the Mac.Rob grounds, especially through the SRC Valentines Day! We kicked off the year with our Welcome to Country Ceremony which gave us the feelings of renewal, purpose and intention we needed to embark on this new year. 

Our termly theme for Term 1 is ‘Planting the Seed’ which has a central focus on our school value of growth, aiming to set the foundations needed to get ourselves ready for what’s ahead. We’ve already seen this in action with the tireless work our student leadership team has done organising events such as the SLT expo which saw our 14 portfolios inspire all students to begin cultivating their own leadership journey. 

Term 1 has already filled the year with so many highlights such as the Swimming Carnival which saw all four Houses go head-to-head with Dryads ultimately taking out the Swimming Cup. We’ve also been incredibly lucky to have multiple guest speakers come in and share their knowledge including F1 Academy Racer Joanne Ciconte, as well as Josh Burns, Nina Taylor, and Vicki Au, welcomed by the Environment Portfolio. We can’t wait to create so many more memories throughout the year, especially with the introduction of so many new clubs (coming soon!)

We’ve started the year with a bang and it’ll only get better (and a bit busier) from here! As always, please remember to continue taking care of yourself and the people around you.
