Monash Law Ambassadors Workshop.
On Monday, September 8th, Year 11 and Year 12 students had the unique opportunity to take part in the Monash Law Ambassadors Workshop, held from 2:45pm to 4:30pm in the school hall.
The session, run by Monash University’s Law Ambassadors, gave students valuable insight into the diverse and dynamic field of law. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, participants explored different areas of legal study, pathways into the profession, and the wide-ranging career opportunities a law degree can open up.
The ambassadors shared their own experiences as law students, offering practical advice about university life, subject selection, and the importance of transferable skills such as critical thinking and communication. Students also had the chance to ask questions and clarify misconceptions about studying law, making the workshop both informative and inspiring.
The event provided an excellent foundation for those considering a future in law or related fields, sparking curiosity and encouraging students to think about how their skills and interests could align with legal careers.
A big thank you to Monash University and the Law Ambassadors for delivering such an insightful and thought-provoking workshop.
South Melbourne Park Primary School Mentorship Program.
Celebrating the South Melbourne Park Mentorship Program for the 4th year!
This term, 20 Year 10 students had the opportunity to take part in the South Melbourne Park Primary School Mentorship Program. Over several weeks, we worked alongside 60 Grade 6 students, helping them build confidence, explore new ideas, and have fun while learning.
Each session was filled with laughter, teamwork, and discovery. From creative activities to exciting challenges, both mentors and mentees learned from one another. “It was amazing to see the Grade 6's get so excited about the activities we planned,” one mentor shared. “I loved helping them.”
For the Grade 6 students, having older students to guide them made a big difference. Many commented on how inspiring it was to have mentors who encouraged them and offered advice as they prepared for secondary school. The connections formed went beyond the activities—friendships, encouragement, and confidence were built along the way.
The program was a fantastic reminder of the power of mentorship. It wasn’t just about teaching—it was about listening, supporting, and celebrating each other’s successes. We are so proud of the effort and enthusiasm everyone brought, and we can’t wait to continue fostering these meaningful connections in the future.
