Mac.Rob Enviro Fete.
On Thursday, July 31st, the Enviro Committee hosted its first ever Enviro Fete!
The event was a collaboration between the Enviro Committee and several other Mac.Rob clubs, including Club Eustress, Current Affairs, and McReads, and focused on highlighting the importance of sustainability in many diverse fields. The goal was to show that sustainability is in every aspect of our daily lives.
At the Tier Booth, attendees debated the sustainability of everyday items (such as Labubus and ChatGPT), participated in activities highlighting a lesser-known negative impact on the environment and made their very own seed bombs at the Seed Bomb stall!
The highlight of the event, however, was definitely the hand-sewn heart plushies. It was so fun teaching everyone how to sew, and we were so proud to see people come away with new skills learnt in under an hour and plushies we know you’ll be naming!
Through creative and hands-on activities, we showed the school community just how easy it could be to look after the environment, and kept everyone energised with a great soundtrack playing in the background, as well as a steady supply of prize candy!
Many walked away surprised at the environmental footprint of things they’d never considered, from everyday snacks to habits we take for granted. We were stoked to see you all participate with so much enthusiasm and hope you enjoyed the event as much as we enjoyed hosting it!
